All Hail The Pitmaster

What started out as an "ihaw-ihaw" barbeque concept from cousins Chef Raffy Sunico and Ben Donato has grown into a smokehouse BBQ restaurant thanks to their dedication. Pitmaster's opened its doors last May 20, 2016 and is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 11am to 12mn. We recently paid this restaurant a visit and it wasn't long before I became a fan.

Pit Caesar Salad (P240)

I never thought in my life I would say I like a salad dish but I love this one. It's their version of Caesar salad loaded with bacon. As they say, anything with bacon is great EVEN salad and this proves it.

Pulled Pork Roll (P200)

Chef Raffy sure was creative with his Pulled Pork Roll. However, I'm not a fan of serving pulled pork in a lumpiang shanghai style. I think it would be better to serve it separately.

Chicken Skin (P145)

The best appetizer has got to be their Chicken Skin. It's so crunchy and sooooo tasty. I also love the homemade sauce they used. You just have to try it.

Regular Flavored Beers (P95)

For those who's an alcoholic and sweet tooth too, you can try their flavored beers. We had toasted marshmallow, hazelnut, banana and brown sugar cinnamon. Believe it or not, I'm a fan of flavored beers because it tastes great unlike the beers we're used to.

Truffle & Smoked Bacon and Mushroom Pizzas (P370 each)

Even if pizza is not their main dish, I still loved it. Big kudos to the chef for these two flavors but I liked the Truffle pizza better. I'm definitely coming back for that one. That doesn't mean the Smoked Bacon and Mushroom pizza isn't something to try though. It's also great.

Pit Platter (P1500)

For the pit platter, we had the 7-hour smoked ribs, 15-hour smoked black angus beef brisket, smoked corriander chicken, pit smoked sausage and smoked bacon strips. What a feast this is. I could easily see myself coming back and finishing this entire platter myself. Okay, I may be a bit exaggerating because there's a lot in there so I really have to prepare myself for it.

You can also choose 4 side dishes and we had the plain fries, grilled corn cob, pepper rice and the chimichurri rice.  I loved all the slow cooked meat dishes. The way they cooked the meat really brought out its premium taste.

Angus Meatball Pasta (P180)

I like how they make their past into a circular shaped dish. It's so Instagram worthy that it's hard to ruin it. Of course, it had to be done and we were extremely satisfied with it especially the meatballs.

Carbonara

4 Cheese Mac & Cheese (P140)

Wow oh wow, did I love their 4 cheese mac & cheese. I love cheese and every time you have cheese mentioned twice in a dish name, you got me hooked. The only complaint I have is I thought the servings were too small but it's right for its price.

Overall, Pitmaster's Smokehouse is one of those restaurants I would definitely go back to.

Work & Dine at One Plus Coffee

One Plus Coffee started out as a place that's originally for startups. The concept is a co-working place and coffee shop rolled into one. When it gained popularity, even families and barkadas flocked to the place.

Szechuan Shrimp Balls

We started off the night with a newly introduced item on their menu, the Szechuan Shrimp Balls. I love shrimp so it was no secret I loved this one. I was just careful not to eat too much of it because after all, other people were with me.

Caesar Salad

I was previously not a fan of any type of salad but this one's got me hooked from the start. It may be because of the large amount of cheese and bacon in it. Who wouldn't like that?

The Nutella Mocha and the Dark Devil are their best-selling specialty coffees. If you want to stay awake til the wee hours, the Dark Devil is for you. Its caffeine is a little strong. For chocolate lovers, you'll love the fact that Nutella Mocha has that extra chocolatey goodness.

For the heaviest dish of the night, we had the Aglio Olio. With all that cheese and bacon on top of this carbonara, how can anyone not like this? It also comes with toasted bread.

Thai Latte

The Thai Latte reminded me of how One Plus Coffee embraced their fusion concept. You're going to get dishes from all over the world whenever you go here. With lots of great choices in the menu, you can never go wrong of going here.

For the heaviest dish of the night, we had meaty lasagna. I tasted a lot of lasagnas in the 9853482 restaurants I have tried and this has got to be right up there as one of the best.

Latte Macchiato

The Latte Macchiato is hard to tell apart from the Thai Latte as they look similar. There are two huge differences though. The former has a stronger taste while the latter has whipped cream on top. Both are excellent for long conversations though.

Sexy Cucumber L'mon

Due to the many health benefits of cucumber and lemon, this drink is bound to make you sexy, right? Not unless you drink too much of it. If you don't do that, this is the perfect drink for all the health freaks.

Matcha Latte

Everyone and their grandmas know I love matcha latte so I had to try their version. When I first sipped it, it didn't taste like Matcha at all so I knew something was wrong. When I asked their server, he said it had caffeine in it. I guess that explains the reason why. From there, I wanted the one without caffeine in it and in my opinion, it had a lot of whipped cream.

Kiwi Lemonade

Alluring Strawberry Mocha

Wow, I'd never thought I'd appreciate the combination of mocha and strawberry. Alluring is indeed the perfect word to describe this drink. It's the perfect sweet ending to a satisfying meal.

Potato Chips

All their sandwiches include these tasty, crunchy and salty potato chips. What else can I say? I absolutely loved it!

One Plus Sweet & Spicy Wings

Their wings are crunchy and yummy just the way I like my wings. They also made it with their homemade sauce and I highly recommend you to try it.

Believe it or not, it was also my first time in Circuit Makati. When I come back, I'll certainly revisit this coffee shop.

Night Full of Greens at Salad Bowl

I never thought I'd see the day where I would eat too much greens. Thanks to Team Aldous' Smooth Saint, Louise, it happened at Salad Bowl. It was a night when the sexiest blogger group on the planet braved the strong rains for a healthy dinner we won't soon forget.

Smoked Fish Barrel (P199.5)

At first, we didn't know what was oozing out of the tomato. Finally, we found out it was none other than creamy smoked fish. Combined with lots of greens, it was a satisfying treat!

Sili Sticks (P150)

At first, I thought the sili was super spicy so I didn't have a bite. When I took a slice, I found out it wasn't that spicy after all. It's just right for those who want a little kick in their appetizer.

Chicken Inasal Wrap (P260)

The healthy treats kept on coming and the Chicken Inasal Wrap was one of the highlights of the night. It's one a classic Filipino dish served in a healthy way.

Truffle Bacon, Beef and Cheese Wrap (P390)

Wow, what a keeper this dish is. From the sound of the name alone, you'll already want to try it. Imagine truffle bacon, beef and cheese in one wrap. What a great idea! Let me give you a clue: It does not disappoint one bit. I'll definitely order this again.

Smoked Salmon Pasta (P295)

For our only carbs of the night, we got smoked salmon pasta. I loved the creamy sauce as it fit the salmon perfectly.

Tarragon Mint & Lemon Grass Iced Tea (P225)

To quench our thirst, we were brought the Tarragon Mint & Lemon Grass Iced Tea. Did you know lemon grass is known for its many health benefits like treating stomach pain, achy joints and common cold? It's certainly a healthy drink that's also refreshing.

Barbeque Chicken Salad (P280)

I highly recommend the barbeque chicken salad not only for its magnificent barbeque sauce but for the fresh greens too. By the way, all their greens are delivered from their Cavite farm everyday so you're ensured of great taste.

Japanese Chicken Corn Sesame Salad (P350)

This one's a salad dish I'm definitely going to try again in the future even if I'm not much of a salad person. It's filled with kani, grilled chicken, corn and greens. It's a wonderful combination to say the least.

Chicken Arugula Pesto (P280)

When you hear the word "pesto", you'll think there's pasta. That's obviously not the case here but you do get pesto cream and that's the next best thing. It also contains greens, tomatoes and grilled chicken. What a healthy alternative to that pasta dish we've grown to love.

Grilled Beef Tomahawk (P4,000)

The Grilled Beef Tomahawk is not only my favorite dish of the night but it may be my favorite dish of all time. Composed of tasty beef grilled to perfection, potato wedges, bell pepper and a lot of greens, there's nothing to dislike about this dish.

Gastro Park: Infinity - The First Unli Food Park

Being a food park fanatic, I went to Gastro Park a couple of times last year. However, I decided to come back when I found out they had a spanking new concept. You guessed it. They're the nation's first unlimited food park and that means each food stall has an unlimited dish.

For those who haven't been to Taiwan, you're missing out because their street food is great. Fear not because Taipei Kita will bring that to you so you don't have to travel to Taiwan. For their unlimited dish, you can enjoy a bottomless serving of their Fried Tofu at only P120.

It's not a food park without a food truck and there's one in the Metro Meat Express. They have classic Filipino dishes with a gourmet modern twist. If you love bacon, you can have that all night at only P249. Their best-selling tanker longsilog is also unlimited for only P249. Don't miss this food truck!

Present in almost any food park and food court all over the country, Tokyo Tempura is known for its unlimited tempura. Tempura lovers like me will flock to this one.

The food stall that played the biggest role in the event is Tolyo's. They serve Filipino food with their own personal touch. Their unlimited dish is none other than the grilled liempo at only P249.

If it's one thing Ball Shack is full of, it's Balls! We've got all types of balls here as it makes you relieve your Asian street food fantasy. The most popular balls around the local streets is Fish Balls and it's their unlimited dish at only P138. I recommend dipping that into their sweet and sour sauce.

Two stalls that really got my attention are Brick Plate and Surfries. I'm loving the pizza choices at Brick Plate and they even serve unlipasta at only P250. If you love fries, Surfries serves different flavors including the Kaboom Bacon Cheese Fries and Pika Boo Nacho Fries. For their unlimited dish, it's the sweet corn fries at only P99.

For your dimsum cravings, you've got Dimsum 777 and Chixy 9 literally brings the wings. For only P249, you're getting an unlimited serving of buffalo wings in buffalo, soy garlic or parmesan flavor. For Dimsum 777, you're getting bottomless siomai rice at only P189.

The Masala Bar is the most unique food stall I've ever come across as it brings Indian food in a way you've never seen before. Their unlimited dish is the Chicken Tikka Wrap at only P249.

For your Japanese cravings, we've got Jap Box and to end the night on a sweet note, you have Sweet Nothing. The Gyoza and Tonkatsu rice meals is the unlimited dish for Jap Box and I'm not complaining about that. For Sweet Nothing, whatever is the juice for the day becomes bottomless at only P120.

To start off the night, we took part in the Carolina Reaper Challenge. All of us were given three BBQ sticks that contained the hottest chili on earth. It was not exactly the challenge I was expecting. It was hard to think of a strategy for this one. What I did was slowly nibble on them while waiting for someone to win. It was a fun experience to say the least.

I loved the mac n cheese balls I got from the Ball Shack. I never thought I'd see the day I'd see this dish. I'd honestly go back to the food park just for it.

Being the jap food fanatic that I am, I got Chicken Teriyaki rice meal and Sukiyaki from Jap Box. The quality was just what you were expecting from a food cart stall. I have nothing to complain about there.

The Chicken Tikki Quesadilla from the Masala Bar is a great snack. I love quesadillas so it was no secret how much I loved this one.

The Torched US Beef Cubes from Taipei Kita is so tender and juicy. It's just the way I love beef. We can learn something here and that's to never underestimate a small stall as they may serve you some wonderful food.

We also got some Salted Egg Tempura from Tokyo Tempura. I love tempura with any flavor so this one gets a thumbs up.

We got the Pulled Pork pizza from Brick Plate. They may be a little late for the pulled pork craze but as they say, it's better late than never. I love the barbeque sauce they used too.

We had some siomai rice at Dimsum 777 and the meat was so filling that I had to get another cup of rice. I recommend putting toyo and kalamansi on the siomai though.

Another pizza I got from Brick Plate is the 3 Cheese + Honey pizza. I love the combination but the honey keeps on dripping and spilling on my hand.

Perhaps the best part of them all is the grand finale - none other than the Matcha Shake from Sweet Nothings. It was a sweet treat from start to finish.

Next time you're in the Kapitolyo area and you don't know what to eat, you'll find many choices in Gastro Park that will satisfy your cravings. Watch out for their next branch too opening soon in Marikina.
