Viva La Chihuahua Mexican Grill!

Ola, Amigos and Amigas.  What an experience me and my blogger friends just had.

We came, we saw and we are definitely telling everyone about the fun we had at Chihuahua Mexican Grill.  I never had so much fun in any blogger event before and we did not have to play any games in order to have a good time.  Before anything else, El Guapo Elian Habayeb made it clear that they are a Tex-Mex cuisine as they combined the authentic flavors of Mexican and Southwestern food.

Chips & Queso Special Nachos (P195)

While waiting for the others, we had this tasty nachos.  All of their nachos had salsa, onions, grilled pepper and corn and this one also had queso and chili con carne.  It was a great appetizer as it warmed us up for what was about to come.

Chihuahua is located right in the middle of Makati's night life district so they don't have a shortage of events.  Saturday is Salsa nights where a salsa instructor will teach you the moves.  The dancing actually goes on until the early hours of Sunday morning.  I actually got to talk to a dance instructor and he told me it was a great way to meet girls.  After that, I told him lets do it right now.  Of course, I was just joking.

Monday is Margarita Madness where you can avail of the buy 1 take 1 Margaritas if you know the password which is at their Facebook page.  Friday is for Limon Fridays where the music turns into Reggae and Latin.  This explains why there are some Cubans and Costa Ricans in the crowd.

Valentine's Day launched the Strawberry Frozen Margarita.  It was mixed with tequila and had an extraordinary taste.  It did not have that much alcohol in it so that was good news for us.  It was a good thing nobody took that for granted or else some bloggers would have gone loco.

Cheese Quesadilla

Steak Quesadilla (P385)

All of their quesadillas are packed with pico de gallo, sour cream, chipotle salsa and guacamole.  The Steak Quesadilla is with USDA beef, peppers and onions while the Veggie Quesadillas is with onions, grilled peppers, zucchini and corn.  I have never ever loved Quesadillas before until right now.

Chicken Nachos (P345)

Steak Nachos (P385)

It was a great feeling to sample both of their nachos specialties namely the Chicken Nachos and the Steak Nachos.  Both were Nacho Grande and mixed with marinated American beef for Steak Nachos and grilled chicken for Chicken Nachos.  They were both delicious and everyone I was with agreed with me.

When I got to taste their burrito, I knew they deserved the top spot in the 10 burritos in spot.ph's top 10 everything food lists.  It is made with Mexican rice, black beans, creamy queso, chipotle salsa and smoky refried beans all in a 10 inch wrapper.  Keep in mind that their burritos are so big that they are already good for 2 to 3 people.

They had some colorfully themed hot sauces on hand.  You better be careful if you have a low tolerance on spices like myself because they will make you run to the bathroom faster than Speedy Gonzalez.  Ariba!

Owners Ines Cabarrus (with me above), Elian Habayeb and Bryan Gallinger were fun, friendly and humble.  Everyone was raving about how they were not like other restaurant owners who were snobs.  I concluded that good food plus good company equals a rocking good time and we had such a fiesta for the ages.

It was Acoustic Wednesdays and the performer was none other than Kjwan keyboardist Inky de Dios.   He has been in countless successful bands and he plays all the instruments.  He is also a nice guy as I got to request a song from him.  I requested for "Kawawang Cowboy" and he gladly obliged even though I was half joking.  No offense to Ricky Martin, but we were livin la vida loca on this day.

I did not expect there to be dessert since everyone was already full by that time but the Banana Nutella Quesadilla (P195) really lit my eyes up. It had fresh bananas, Nutella and Jiffy's Peanut Butter topped with almonds, cinnamon and vanilla ice cream.  It was such a delightful combination that I think I was able to eat around half of it.  It is also available in large size for P345.

Muchos Gracias, Chihuahua Mexican Grill.  I will definitely be back.  Thanks to Hannah Bacani and Chihuahua Mexican Grill for the photos.

I've always loved mexican food so my first stop when visiting malls is always at a taco parlor shop.

We almost would have had our date here last Valentines Day if only we didn't dine at Chihuahua before Feb 14. Haha.
