#10Q was trending all night as the sold out crowd at the Star Theater watched in awe at the entertaining dance performances by the numerous dance groups who performed at Sayaw Manila 10.
There was comedy in the intermission as the Pickup Boys were introduced. They were doing cool dance moves while there was a contest going on. They also acted out the names of the media sponsors including my blog. The only sad thing was I failed to record the part when they acted out my blog name.
It was also a benefit event for the Makulay Foundation as college based dance groups and professional dance troupes give a tribute to a decade of Sayaw Manila performances.
UP Manila's Indayog Dance Varsity knew how to please the crowd when they were dressed up in red. They were also the organizers of the event and I have to applaud how everything was organized from the moment the curtain opened up until it closed. They certainly showed why they consistently placed in various street dance battles.
Who could forget the hip hop themed dance numbers here? I am a fan of R & B music so it was something I appreciated. I certainly did not miss a beat when the dance moves went from one dancer to another.
Most of the dance performances gave homage to student life as it made me miss being a student. They gave new meaning to everything that happened in the school setting including dealing with a terror professor, starting with your first love and hating homework.
This dance number was inspired by Alice in Wonderland but it did not have a good ending as Alice suffered for stealing the queen's scepter. Their costumers were wonderful though and the villain really played his part well.
In the second to last dance number, it was a hilarious portrayal of a gay person who tried to hide the truth from his father. It was cool how his numerous personalities literally came out of the closet. I found myself dancing as well when they were dancing to "Bongga ka Day" and "Sirena".
The show ended with a very special dance number as everyone who performed came on stage and even scattered throughout the crowd while dancing to the beat of the Grammy winning song "Can't Hold us". It was indeed one of those events that left me speechless and wanting a lot more. Bring on Sayaw Manila 11!

I didn't quite get who the organizer of Sayaw Manila was. Was this event organized by a certain college or something? Nonetheless, this festivity looked really engaging.

It's fun to watch performances like this. I just hoped I was able to come and enjoy this event too.
It has been a long time since I watched groups dancing live onstage. I also missed the times that I perform and show my moves. :)
Seems like a fun event. If I were there, I'd die of envy because I really can't dance THAT well. :)
The event looked like it was filled with excitement and sick dance moves.
