Party for a cause at Manila Pub Crawl this Saturday

A party in one of the largest bbq grill chain in the metro.

A party in one of the funnest bar where they conduct weekly quiz nights over booze.

A party in one of the most sophisticated club in The Fort.

A party in two of the TOP Clubs in Resorts World.

It is going to happen this Saturday, June 29th. Sweet right? What's sweeter is everything you pay for will help someone's dream to be a reality.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of water related accidents in the lovely island of Boracay. But there is also a shortage of trained lifeguards.

Together with Red Cross Malay Chapter, PubCrawl Philippines will conduct simultaneous Charity PubCrawl in Boracay and Manila! All net proceeds will go to the lifeguard training of young locals in Boracay, giving them free education and livelihood.

Hey, more good news.  Neneng Bakit will also party with us.

Hoho Chicken Chops

Originally from Taiwan, Hoho (very good in Cantonese) Chicken Chops has arrived in the Philippines.  Owners Richmond and Priscilla Tan welcomed us to his pleasant restaurant and he explains that the place is good because they are near 5 Chinese schools including St. Stephen which is just a few meters away.

Their meals are affordable and fit for students.  For those interested, they are also available for franchising.  People may want to take advantage of how well they cook their delicious chicken chops.

Chickenchop (P90)

Their chicken chops come in various flavors and we got to taste Plum, Lemon Pepper and Spicy.  Unfortunately, I have a low tolerance on spicy foods so I decided to just taste plum and lemon pepper.

The cool part about the chicken chops here is that they are boneless and very crispy.  I suggest everyone try out all the flavors and you will surely end up with a favorite among the choices.

Chickcharon (P30)

Crispy Corndog(P35)

I have tasted a lot of corndogs and this one has got to be up there as one of my favorites.  It is very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Our group of 5 enjoyed the snacks and drinks of Hoho Chicken Chops and I would not be surprised to see any of them back here soon especially since most of the bloggers I invited just live nearby.

Chickcharon Cheese (P30)

Out of everything given to us, I really loved the Hoho Special Chicken Chops.  The basil in this one make it a must try.  When we were all asked to have anything taken out, I immediately chose this one.  For me, it was a no brainer.  In fact, there are times when I would crave for this flavor.

Return to Thai Bistro

I was so excited to come back to Thai Bistro after so many months of not being able to dine here.  I got to hand it over to Wazzup Pilipinas for this event as me and my blogger friends got the opportunity to meet with the owner, Chef Cecille Chang.  When we got to sit down and talk to her, she is not someone who runs out of stories.  She shares she just got back from a diving trip which explains her skin color.

Thai Bistro opened at the same time as Robinson's Magnolia which is Aug. 13, 2012.  She explains that she stayed at Bangkok for one year just to prepare for the opening of this restaurant.  She also mentioned that the items that are displayed on the walls of the restaurant are items she bought from Bangkok.  She tells us a lot of other bloggers have also blogged about Thai Bistro and she leads us to the front of the restaurant where there are some quotes from blog posts.  I was surprised to find out I was actually one of the bloggers that are there.  It is a shame I found out about that only now and it is a real privilege to be placed alongside famous bloggers.

I told her that I only ordered Pad Thai, Chicken Curry and rice the last time I visited and she tells me there have been numerous additions since then which got me excited even more.

 Refreshing Cucumber Mint (P130)

 Thai Green Milk Tea (P110)

Since I am a milk tea lover, I had Thai Green Milk tea for my drinks.  It was indeed a great beverage to compliment the awesome food they have.  I did not regret ordering that drink.

 Lemongrass Juice (P80)

 Mieng Kham (P180)

To start the night off, we had Mieng Kham.  It was vegetables topped with chili on top of it.  This means customers have the option of eating it with or without the chili.  I preferred to eat it without the chili since I have a low tolerance for spicy foods.

 Pink Pomelo (P360)

 Choo Cheese Rotin (P195)

 Pad Thai (P320)

I admitted right in the beginning that their Pad Thai is one of the best versions out there.  After tasting it for a 2nd time, my opinion about that has not changed.  Chef Cecille also tells us that her Pad Thai at her Thai Bistro food court stall downstairs is very different from this one so nobody should think it is the same.

 Siam Chicken Wrap (P315)

When you wrap the chicken with lettuce, the taste would be unforgettable.  It would taste like ground pork at first but that would change soon enough.

Lamb Shank Massaman small 400g (P120/g)

In my opinion, the Lamb Shank Massaman has got to be the highlight of the night.  The other bloggers were also raving about the sweet potato chips as they claim it was addicting.  Sadly, I did not focus on that because I was solely focused on eating the lamb as I took advantage of the fact that one of my co-blogger's preference of not eating pork.

The lamb was tender and for me it really goes hand in hand with the bagoong rice and the pad thai.  When our food even was nearing its twilight, the lamb was nearly gone but I still tried to find meat in it because it was THAT good.

 Khao Khluk Kapi (P315)

Since most of the bloggers were health conscious people, the bagoong rice was barely touched.  However, when I got to taste it I must say it is a very fine version.

 Thai Ravioli (P295)

Thai Ravioli showed the creativity of Chef Cecille as it is beef and mushrooms wrapped in rice paper.  Everyone ignored this dish at the start but I told all of them they are making a mistake by ignoring this dish because it is a keeper.

 Sala Daeng (P328)

Sala Deang is lemongrass fillets stuffed with ground chicken.  It is a very unique dish and it is possible customers would have a hard time getting the meat out.  It is a good thing Chef Cecille was there and she taught us how to properly eat it.  Come to think of it, it is not that hard to figure out.

 Takhoo Thai (P180)

Takhoo Thai is creamy coconut custard topping on top of tapioca pearls.  I am not really a fan of pearls but this combination really made me happy.

 Sticky Rice with Mango (P210)

 Bistro Nest (P240)

The Bistro Nest stole the show.  Just when everyone was already holding on to their full tummies, they just could not resist getting one bite after the other of this luscious dessert.  It is coconut ice cream with the nest made out of taro and sweet potatoes.  If you mix it with the chocolate sauce then you will feel like you are in heaven.

Can you say Ikkoryu Fukuoka?

Ikkoryu Fukuoka ramen restaurant opened last June 1 at SM Aura to a tremendous response from Filipinos because the place is always full.   Thanks to Karl, I got to be one of the bloggers who graced the restaurant on its opening day.

The place had such good looking interiors and it was also noisy.  Not because of the customers but because of the servers shouting.  There were several times when I felt I was in a market but I just had to get used to it because that is really how it is in Japanese restaurants.

For drinks, I had the fresh buko juice and my friend Roch had the fresh banana shake.  I love it when fresh fruit shakes are available because they are truly healthy for your body.

The main course in this restaurant is obviously the ramen.  All of us looked at the menu and ordered the ones that had the best seller icon.  All ramens has slow cooked nodles that took 12 hours to prepare and that is impressive.  All of us decided to have different orders in order to taste all of the ramens.

Ajitama Tonkotsu (P380) had two boiled eggs and I love eggs so I really recommend this ramen to be mixed before eating as it will be more enjoyable that way.  I ordered Special Vegetable Paste Tonkotsu (P380) and it did not really live up to my expectations and the other bloggers agreed with that.  Black Garlic Tonkotsu (P380) was the best ramen out of all that was served and everyone agreed to that statement.  Kimchi Tonkotsu (P380) is for the people who like it spicy and I am not one of those people so I did not try it.

Their Gyoza (P150) is a must try.  When I dipped it to the sauce, I knew it was the perfect combination.

I'm sure everyone loved the Kaarage (P180) as it was boneless Chicken bits mixed with vegetables.  It really went great with the vegetables as it forced everyone to not mix it with rice to be healthy.  I actually ate most of the chicken that were provided to us since I saw everyone else ignored it.  I am sure they will regret that someday though.

Wow, I was really happy when they served us ice cream.  I love these two flavors and they are going to make you happy too.  I personally love sea salt caramel and I was ecstatic when it appeared in front of me.
