Levante opens at Eastwood

Mercato finally has a branch at Eastwood as Levante made its much awaited opening to the public.  There are over 30 food vendors that sell a variety of food choices and that is good news to the BPO people who are working nearby.

It was awesome seeing the staff of Maria's Ilocos Empanada prepare our empanadas.  When I finally got to taste the empanadas, I realized they were certainly worth the wait.

My homeboy Big Bob's Burger owner James Ean Cuenca comes to Levante with a new creation, Cheat Day Burger.  The burgers at Big Bob's were charcoal grilled while the one at Cheat Day was electric grilled.  I love the name because it is for weight watchers who dedicate one day of the week to eat anything they want and the food here is perfect for that day.

Patrick Cartaso's Eat MY GF is one of the more popular vendors there.  I can't blame people for wanting to try their garlic fries because they are indeed tasty.

Cakes by K has a lot of goodies to offer for those who got the sweet tooth. It's such a shame I am not much of a cake lover or else I would have devoured everything in sight.

Schmidt's Gourmet Hotdogs have really juicy hotdog choices for hotdog lovers.  You will be delighted at the toppings that fill up some of them.

Twisted Desserts sell a bunch of really affordable dig deep cups.  They can also customize cakes like the piano cake that is displayed.

It is such a shame how this happens only once a week because I am sure the people working at Eastwood would want Levante to happen at least twice or even thrice in a week.  I also hear there were not much chairs in the area so I hope that problem would be addressed.

On a personal note, I really learned my lesson with these Mercato events.  I always ended up sweating like a pig.  Next time, I am going to bring a couple of extra shirts. :D

Rainy Night at Carol's Texan 5

It was raining cats and dogs last Saturday night but that was not going to stop me from visiting Carol's Texan 5.  I love American food so I was very excited for the opportunity to try out their food.  Owner Carol Chan says that their restaurant was more of catering before but now they are also focusing on walk in customers.

Tato Skins (P165)

Dynamite Wings 12 pcs (P365)

I was late so the Tato Skins was already served when I arrived.  It was potato skins filled with cheese and bacon bits.  It really goes well when dipped to the mayonnaise provided.  It was one appetizer that I kept on eating until the night was over.  The dynamite wings came and I was careful because I have a low resistance for spicy food.  That did not stop me from trying out their wings though.  I must say I loved it and the french fries are a must try as well.

Ultimate Texan Ribs (P425)

 Mushroom Jack Burger (P205)

Tomato Basil Shrimp (P220)

The house specialties came and even if I am still full from a heavy lunch I ate, I still found a way to stuff these delightful dishes into my stomach.  The Ultimate Texan Ribs is their best seller and I can't blame the hundreds of customers who have already ordered it because it is one of the best ribs I have ever tasted.  I love burgers and the Mushroom Jack Burger is something that satisfied my cravings.  The Tomato Basil Shrimp is one pasta dish that would really go well with the meat dishes.  It is also a must try for pasta lovers.

Mango Cheese Cake (P195)

Waffle Cream (P115)

Lava Cake (P155)

The dessert came and the other people I was with were already full so they only had a bite of each cake.  Believe it or not, that left a smile on my face because I became the finisher for the 3 cakes that were served.  I don't really have anything negative to say about these cakes and they are definitely for those who have the sweet tooth.

Carol's Texan 5 also has a kid's section where people can take photos with a Wanted sign that is posted on the wall.  They plan to have acoustic nights in the future.  Speaking of the future, it really looks bright for this up and coming restaurant especially if more people would get to try their delicious food.

Sumptuous dinner at TOSH Libis

I can't remember the last time I ate The Old Spaghetti House so I gladly accepted an invitation from their marketing manager Ace Azzaraga for a bloggers event here.  TOSH has been in the business for 10 years and they are still going strong with new branches being opened everywhere in the Metro.

While waiting for the other bloggers, Ace had the Grilled Veggie Pizza prepared.  The style of their pizza is very different from others because you will have to roll the rectangular slices.  Even if this dish is healthy, it is still very delicious and it is a good thing another was served when the other bloggers arrived or else they may have missed half of their life.

For my drinks, I had Matcha Green tea.  For those who know me well then you already know I am an avid Matcha lover.  I really recommend this drink or maybe that is just me being biased.

I love pizza so it was no surprise how much I loved their Thai Bagoong pizza.  It is loaded with green mango slices, bagoong and bagnet slices.  It is such a shame the other bloggers were not able to try this because for me, it was the show stealer.

Mylene's Creamy Pinoy Pasta is not your ordinary pasta dish.  It is mixed with longanisa bits, tinapa and topped off with creamy white sauce.  If I am not mistaken, it came from the winner of TOSH's contest and after tasting it, I now know why she won the contest.  I won't forget this dish anytime soon.

The pasta dishes that were served were Mylene's Creamy Pinoy Pasta, Gambasetti, Pesto with Grilled Chicken and the Seafood Alfredo.  These pasta dishes are just a small glimpse of the huge selection of pasta dishes they have.  All of us loved their pasta and we were amazed that they have more to offer.  My favorite was the seafood alfredo and it really went well with the garlic bread that was provided.

These risotto balls should not be taken lightly because inside it is creamy bacon.  This is one dish that should be ordered every time you dine at TOSH.

How original!  The carbonara wraps were very impressive and I must say I could eat these things even if I am already full.  It is that good.

No meal is complete without dessert and we had one with tiramisu which is my favorite cake, golden oreo cookies and mud pie.  I had a sample of each of these two and the child in me just had to ruin the TOSH logo on the plate.
