Filipino Food with a Twist at Sentro 1771

If this was the last Openrice Eat's a Date for the year then they definitely ended 2013 with a bang.  My tummy has never been this full for an Openrice event so I have to give credit where credit is due and that is to the wonderful people from Sentro 1771 because their food is simply mouth watering.



Macau Chorizo and Cheese Tidbits (P240)


While some bloggers were late, the Macau Chorizo and Cheese Tidbits was served.  It was delicious as I simply kept on getting more while waiting for the others.  It was filled with chorizo, keso de bola and shallots.  What an amazing creation!



B2B Stick (4 for P150)




 Garlic Mushrooms with Chicharon (P320)


The mushrooms combined perfectly with the chorizo as the two appetizers blend in perfectly.  I love mushrooms and chicharon so it was no surprise how much I loved this one.



Camote Cups (4 for P240)


No meal is complete without vegetables and Camote Cups is full of it including carrots, cabbage and baguio beans.  I almost ignored the lumpia sauce that came along with it as that would have been a big mistake.



Strawberry Watermelon




Two-Egg Ampalaya Crepe (P150)


The rest of the bloggers basically failed to notice this one and it was their loss. I thought it was good for an amplaya dish.  It was actually not that bitter when I got to taste it.



Sinigang na Corned Beef (P595)


It was the main event because it is their specialty.  I was really anticipating for this dish to come out and guess what?  It overwhelmed my expectations so much that I was completely digging the Sinigang Corned Beef. I doubt any other restaurant in the metro has it in their menu so this is such a nice exclusive to Sentro 1771.




Sauteed Lengua with Mushrooms Salpicao (P550)


There is nothing to not love about their lengua or I could be biased because lengua is my favorite dish.  It was so good that I even traveled like a travel blogger from one end of the table to the other just to get the lengua there.




Arroz a la Valenciana (P300)


For our rice, this one was filled with chicken, pork and bell peppers.  The rice is also cooked in coconut milk and that is always a good thing.



Keso Flan (P220)


I was supposed to stay off sweets but I could not let this dish pass by without tasting it.  Unfortunately for me, after tasting it I couldn't help but get more.  It was that good.  It was actually cheesecake made to look like leche flan as I found out after finishing every last bit of it.



Fried Suman and Mangoes (P180)






Banana Tart (P150)


While everyone was full, I kept on munching on the Banana Tart.  It is that time of the food event where everyone would say they have had enough but I kept on munching since it was dessert time.
