Yabu opens at SM North

My favorite Japanese restaurant in the whole world Yabu finally opened at a mall that is close to home, SM North Edsa.  It was an event that I could not miss so I would like to thank the marketing staff of Yabu for inviting me to this glorious event.

A priest was present to bless the store for good luck.  He sprinkled holy water throughout each part of the store while all members of the Yabu staff held candles.

The ribbon cutting was led by Yabu CEO Mr. John Concepcion, Corporate Director Mr. Gerry Santos and SM North AVP of Operations Ms. Renee Bacani.

For drinks, I had the house blend bottomless iced tea (P95).  It is a really good mix of flavors that made my drink as good as it is.  It instantly became one of my favorite house blend iced teas. 

For appetizer, we had Wakamme/Potato Salad (P195) and I have to admit it was just something that would let us eat something while waiting for the main course.  However, it was good for an appetizer so I would really like to recommend it for hungry customers.

My friends were way too serious in grinding the sesame seeds.  It was certainly something for the customers to do while waiting for the katsu sets especially if there are a lot of customers.

My order, the Kurobuta Miso Katsu set (P580) arrived and I could not wait for the order of my companions to arrive as this was one dish that I could not help staring at.  The sauce was lovely and the unlimited Japanese rice, cabbage, miso soup and fruits only supported the wonders of this meal.

I love it when this lady would refill my cabbage.  I lost count of how many times I actually had it refilled because it was that good.  The service here is simply amazing and my blogger friends even had their picture taken with our server. 

My two friends both had the Kurobuta Pork Set (P575).  Kurobuta is known as the world's finest pork so I can't blame them for ordering that set.  It was a good thing for me one of them was not able to finish her katsu set so I ended up getting a piece of the Kurobuta Pork set and it is without a doubt better than advertised.

In what was such a sweet ending to a great dinner, we ended it with the Vanilla Lava ala Mode (P155) which was Vanilla ice cream on top of chocolate lava cake.  It was a desert for the ages and since my friends were already full, I volunteered to finish the cake after they had a couple of bites.
