Highlights of Foodgasm 3: Triple the Flavor

Aldous at the World was one of the proud blogger partners of Foodgasm 3.  I arrived late because of some personal reasons but it was an event I am glad I attended.  The object was to taste all of the food stalls there one by one like an obstacle course.  After that, I had to rate each of them from 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest.

To be honest, I am a food critic that is hard to please so only a few of them got high scores in my scoreboard.  The night was a long one for most food vendors as some drew lines while others failed to attract much people.  There were some familiar faces since I already attended past Mercato events.

Here are the participants of Foodgasm III:

The black mamba wings of B. Wings became the Foodgasm champion.  I am not a big fan of spicy food so I was not able to appreciate it as much.  With all the free beer in this booth though, they certainly won the heart of voters.  That is not taking anything away from the quality of the wings as they are pretty good.

Being a huge Burrito fan, it did not take long before I became a fan of the Fried Burrito from Little Donkey.  One small piece of a burrito is certainly not enough for a hungry giant like me.  I would have loved to take more if only the people from Little Donkey would turn their backs. *evil laugh*

One of the runner ups of Master Chef, Ivory Yat amazed foodies with her roast beef and tuyo pasta.  She was very friendly as she posed for pictures with numerous fans.

It was such a shame how the Bagnet Paella of Flavor Ave did not win any awards.  They earned my vote since I thought bagnet and paella made a great combination.  I hope they would join more tasting competitions since a lot of people deserve to taste their bagnet paella.

The Wagamama of Schmidt's Gourmet Hotdogs won the People's Choice award.  A hotdog is a great recovery food so I can understand why a lot of people including me liked the Wagamama.  Of course, a Japanese version would indeed be popular among foodies.

One of the dark horses of the night was the cookie flavored spreads of Monster Butter.  In my opinion, cookie flavored spreads are taking over the metro and it could easily make breads and pancakes tastier.

Chef Bab had a one of a kind sisig in the Dinakdakan.  The fact that it has grilled pig head in addition to pork brain really got me curious about it.  It definitely did not disappoint as it had me craving for more.

I was lucky enough to get the last piece of the cupcake dealer's Redgammon.  Talk about perfect timing!  It was a good cupcake as well so that really made me happy.

The mini blueberry cheesecake of Eve's Cakes and Sweets got my attention because of its sweetness.  I would love to eat this again as I think I could take out a whole box of it.

Pepito's Pinoy Sorbet won the award for Expert's Choice award.  It was cool how the entire family of the owner were on hand to help serve the ice cream.

Coco Royal's Basil Seeds with Honey drink won the award for Most Innovative.  When I got to drink it, it was indeed a one of a kind drink.

I don't know about you guys but I am signing up for Foodgasm 4 as early as now! Mucho gracias to the UP Economics Society for organizing this event and inviting me here.

To be honest, I haven't been into this kind of event since and I am hoping one day be able to experience one. I would say that the black mamba is not for me either, I cannot just tolerate hot and spicy foods.

Sayang ang paella. It still looks good to me since it was served with finesse but congrats B. Wings for their winning black mamba wings entry. I really like chicken wings too especially if they're cooked fried or spicy. Yum!

Their food seemed interesting, especially the paella with bagnet. I can already imagine how it would taste like. Maybe when it becomes promoted in the market, more people will come to like it.
