Excellency defined at Casa Roces

With just a few blocks away from Malacanang Palace, we all dined at Casa Roces.  The restaurant is just 2 years old and has already hosted several occasions including weddings and parties.  The sales manager Maricar dela Cruz even told us they already have reservations for next year.

The restaurant manager and sales manager are shown here in this picture.  All the photo credits go out to Ted Claudio of wazupphilippines.com.  I personally had a hard time going to this restaurant as I took the MRT to Cubao then LRT line 2 to Legarda station.  After that, I walked then took a tricycle to the restaurant.  When I got off, the driver actually asked for 100 pesos because he got tired.  The poor schmuck.

The house is owned by the traditional Roces-Prieto family so it really is an antique.  There are a lot of paintings and art work all over the house and some of them are for sale.

I was lucky enough to be invited to this food tasting event along with Ted Claudio and the good looking boys from Events Specialists Philippines.  We all had the set meal which is Truffle Mushroom Puree, Lengua Caesar Salad, Pescado En Salsa Verde or Lamb Kaldereta and Malacanan Frozen Trouffle.

For drinks, we had the Casa Sangria (red wine with fresh fruit cubes) and Salabat Soda (lemon soda with ice cubes).  Both drinks tasted funny but I meant that in a good way.

I can really see the freshness of the mushroom while I was eating the mushroom soup and that made it extra special.  I have never seen lengua caesar salad offered in any other restaurant that I have been to which means the sales manager was right when she told us they wanted to offer extraordinary dishes.

The lamb kaldereta was really good.  It was so slow cooked that it took 4 hours to prepare this dish so it is a must to order it in advance.  The chef himself told us it was the specialty of the house and that people would come from far away places just for it.  I can't blame them for doing that because it is indeed something that is worth coming back for.

We all gave the chef a thumbs up for a job well done on all the food we ate.  It was first class dining at its best.
