Naci is Overrated

I noticed how so many food bloggers gave Naci Comfort Food a 5 star rating so I decided to check it out.  I was so surprised when I came there because there was not much people eating.  I immediately ordered Peking Chicken Pizza since I was so hungry.  The pizza was so crunchy which made me conclude it is more like tacos instead of pizza.  We also had lumpia bites for appetizer but I did not eat much of that.

I had to try the beef caldereta lasagna since it was too tempting from the name itself being a fan of both lasagna and beef caldereta.  My girlfriend ordered pesto salmon which was pretty decent.  There was nothing really special about the lasagna so I was a little disappointed.  I also had steak and eggs since I was very hungry.  The food was good but nothing to get excited about.

I hate to be a killjoy but I have to be honest here.  Naci is a bit overrated for me.  I am not even sure if I will come back and try the other tempting dishes.  The service was above average though but that is not the only deciding factor in rating a restaurant.

My Favorite J.Co Flavors

I am proud to say I tasted almost all of the donuts at J.Co and I understand all the people who fall in line just to take home these delicious donuts.  They are addictive and cheap since one piece is 42 and 2 dozen donuts is only 550.  That would actually mean an average customer just saved 458 pesos since 42 multiplied by 24 is 1008.  But enough of the math, I am never good with solving match problems.  I am only good in eating delicious food like donuts and J.Co is the new donut king in the Philippines

3. Al Capone

Who cares who this donut is named after?  The important thing is the donut is delicious because it is creamy and filled with almonds.

2. Tiramisu

This donut gives that sweet tiramisu taste along with whipped cream inside it.

1. Why Nut

There is peanut butter inside this donut which automatically pleases me.

The newly opened store at Trinoma now has chair outside for people who won't mind waiting just to get in line inside the place.  This is the first time I have seen a donut themed restaurant that attracted this much attention.  There are a lot of people who say this restaurant is only good in the beginning but I don't think that is the case with this restaurant.  The service here is nothing to talk about but that's alright since most people go here to take out a dozen donuts anyway.

It is only a matter of time before J.Co would have as much branches as Krispy Kreme.  There is always that complain from customers that their favorite flavors are already out of stock when it is already their turn.  The simple solution for this is to buy donuts during office hours or you can tell the staff you will wait for your preferred donut.  It is worth the wait anyway.

An Unforgettable Bubble Tea Experience

We went to Bubble Tea because my girlfriend is craving for salmon.  She says they have the best salmon in the country and I agree.  For the first time, we ordered their Takoyaki.  I would say their Takoyaki is pretty decent but nothing special.

It is no secret the milk tea craze has hit the country like a typhoon.  It may be reaching its climax but I think it is stuck on most people like coffee.  I am addicted to milk tea myself and there are some unique tea choices at Bubble Tea.  Most of their milk tea choices are also available as a milkshake.  This is one place you should order drinks even if you are on a strict water only diet.  We ordered taro milk tea and honey dew melon tea.  There is an option to switch the sugar brand to Splenda to lessen the sweetness.

Since it was a rainy day, we tried their Beef Stew Udon and Seafood Misu Udon.  The Seafood Misu Udon was good as it even included salmon.  For the main course, I could not resist ordering Chicken Curry because it is my favorite dish in this restaurant.  Even if I just ate at another restaurant, I would still order their Chicken Curry.  That is how addicting this dish is for me.

My girlfriend loves their salmon sashimi and I can see why.  I would glance at the other tables and they also have this dish on their table.  Their salmon sashimi is the biggest reason why we always come back to Bubble Tea, Tomas Morato.  I am glad to see they are opening a branch at Al Fresco, Trinoma.  There is no doubt I will pay that branch a ton of visits once it opens.

Awesome Food at Stackers Cafe

I missed the Bloggers event at Stackers Cafe, Eastwood but that did not stop me from trying out its food at Resorts World.  I have to say the food was good but nothing special.  We ordered sour cream fries, crispy burger without onion bits and lettuce and baked fried chicken.  Since the last bloggers event was about the baked fried chicken of Stackers, I just had to try it out.

If the chicken is indeed for health buffs then that is good.  However, fat people will not like this chicken because it does not taste that good.  If you are looking for crunchy and tasty fried chicken then this is not the one you are looking for.  I also chose to try their Iced tea which was good.

The total bill was around 560 peyses (Tnx Eat Bulaga) which was for a 2 pc baked fried chicken with rice, sour cream fries, house iced tea and two burgers.  The menu looks expensive but we actually got our money's worth in this restaurant.

Asya is Better than Advertised

One of the original restaurants at Centris Walk is Asya.  It offers various Asian food so you have a lot of choices in the menu.  We chose to have a little mix of Filipino food and Singapore food as we ordered Pinakbet, Sinigang Salmon and Hainanese Chicken.  All these dishes were very good as I did not expect them to be that good.  I also loved the way they decorated the chairs as you would think there is a person in every table if you look at it from afar.

My girlfriend exclaimed the Sinigang Salmon here is better than the one at Conti's which says a lot about the food in this restaurant.  I have to say the food I ate were good enough to satisfy my craving.  This is one restaurant I will definitely come back to because I would also want to taste the other dishes they have.

Noodle Works suffers from a bad spot

At Resorts World, there are always a lot of people willing to bet everything they have.  Of course, you have to take a break and catch a bite before gambling again.  Beside the popular Mercado is Noodle Works.  It is a Singapore themed restaurant that caters to the old people because of all the noodles it offers on its menu.  Other than noodles, they also have rice meals.  Since I could not find any Phad Thai, I ordered Char Kway Teow with Shrimp and Chorizo.

For our other food, we ordered Chicken Terriyaki with Egg and Nasi Goreng with 2 piece chicken.  I was disappointed to find out the chicken was kind of hard which probably meant it was not well cooked or it stayed too long in the fridge.  I did not try their noodle soups so that may be where their specialty lies.  However, I advise you all to skip the main course.

Thai Bistro opens at Rob Magnolia

We were trying to find a good place to eat at Robinson's Magnolia on a glorious Friday night.  We tried to circle Al Fresco but I did not really see anything I like until somebody gave me a flyer of Thai Bistro.  We decided to give it a shot since I love Phad Thai.  Thai Bistro is located at the ground floor of Al Fresco, Rob Magnolia so it is kind of hidden.  I was surprised to see a lot of people enjoying their food when we entered the place.  Since we were so hungry, we ordered Phad Thai right away along with fresh shanghai rolls.

My girlfriend exclaimed that their Thai milk tea is one of the best ones in the country.  That is saying a lot since there are a lot of Thai milk tea in the country.  I tasted it and I have to say it is superb.  For the rest of dinner, we ordered fried rice and green chicken curry.  I was very impressed at how fast the food came even though there were a lot of people in the restaurant.

The only complain I have about this place is the price of each item on the menu.  I also had a hard time taking the spicy chicken curry as I did not expect it to be that spicy.  It's all good though as I would remember next time to tell the server not to make it too spicy.

I am not that fond of Thai food but this restaurant made me a fan.  I am definitely coming back as I am glad this restaurant is one of the restaurants at Al Fresco, Robinson's Magnolia.  The owner of the restaurant is also very friendly as I noticed her talking to all the customers of the restaurant.  That is something I rarely see a restaurant owner do.

Try and pass Teaology

Teaology is not a subject but it is a milk tea store hoping to make it big in this industry.  The milk tea craze is upon us and is not slowing down anytime soon.  I attended my first openrice event at the Teaology branch at Xanland Condominium.  We were given free tastes of their wonderful teas and all of them impressed me.  They also had 3 snacks for those who would want to eat while drinking.  Of course, places like these are for students who want to study because there is a strong wifi signal in the place.

After our free samples, we were given a choice of one free drink.  I ordered the Amaretto drink with 25% sugar because it combines almond and vanilla ice cream.  The other bloggers ordered matcha green tea and chocolate mint tea.  I have to say there was not a drink in this milk tea place that disappointed me.  All the snacks were also good but not enough to satisfy one's hunger so you may want to eat first before heading over here.

The owners revealed this is their 2nd branch and it is approaching its 1st year at the Xanland Place Condominium.  Their 1st branch is at Il Terrazzo, Tomas Morato which I have been to numerous times already.  I have to thank Openrice for giving me a chance to attend this eatsadate event.

The place is very relaxing and the service is quite good for a milk tea place. The owners also informed us that they change products every year and welcome suggestions from customers.  That is good news especially for those who are loyal to Teaology.  I actually admire their courage in their Il Terrazzo branch because they are going head to head against Milk Tea heavyweight Gong Cha.
